To celebrate our tenth birthday, we will present for this season 2003: "DYNAMISM IN ACTION":

"Sport Illustrated by Douglas Gorsline and the famous Photographers."

The exhibition is created to basis of the drawings and the pictures of sporty topics achieved by Douglas Gorsline for Sport Illustrated as well as for other publications. With them we will present photographic œuvres on the same theme by contemporary and historic photographers. Thanks to the involvement of the Museum Marey, you will be able to admire the chronophotographies of Etienne-Jules MAREY. The other photographers who will participate at the exhibition are the next one: Harold EDGERTON, Gjon MILI, Michel HANS, Paolo GIOLI, Philippe MAUPETIT, Rafael CHIPAUÏT, Phillip LEONIAN, James START and Charles HOFF.

Étienne Jules Marey is the big French scientist who invented (1882) the process to decompose the movement; Harold Edgerton, the American scientist who finalized (1932) (e strobe process thanks to the use of the electronic flash what allows him to stop the movement has unimaginable speeds; Gjon Mili is the first has have use the stroboscopie to create some documents for the press. The other photographers presented, show the influence binds Marey, and each feared the movement according to their sensitivity and their talent.
